FARM RAISED Shrimp from Aquastar Seafoods

FARM RAISED Shrimp from Aquastar Seafoods

Okay…so I know that this is not necessarily my style BUT, I swear that the shrimp used were farm raised. I verified this as best as I could by visiting the Aquastar website and researching their company. I found that they are actually doing several things to promote environmental preservation and the recipe was WELL worth the personal sacrifice!

It seems that these Aquastar characters are actually trying much harder than most fisheries to help our environment but, enough about that. Let’s talk about this Shrimp and Artichoke Bake that Paula Deen so wonderfully provided for us. Thanks, Paula Deen!

Here Comes the List of Goodies…

2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 1/2 Cups of half-and-half
1/4 Cup of crated Parmesan cheese
1/2 Cup of sherry
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Teaspoon of House Seasoning Mix
2 Egg yolks, lightly beaten
One 13 3/4 Ounce can of artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 pound of shrimp, cleaned and peeled
(PLEASE: Use farm raised shrimp, our coral reefs are severely damaged by many shrimp fisheries around the world, on a daily basis.)
1/4 Pound of fresh mushrooms, we left our button mushrooms whole.
1/4 Cup of grated Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese
Paprika to taste

Now, Lets Put Some Heat to It!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Melt butter in a pan over a medium heat…..blend in flour to make a paste
Add half-and-half all at once and stir till thick and smooth
Add parm, sherry, Wor. sauce, garlic powder, salt & pepper
Temper egg yolks with 2 tablespoons of the hot mixture and add back to the remainder of the cheese sauce. SET ASIDE
Mix the artichokes, mushrooms and shrimp together in a large casserole dish
Pour the sauce over the top, sprinkle the cheese and paprika over the top
Bake for 30-35 minutes - serve over rice……ENJOY!

This is the end result....enjoy!
